The guidance is directed towards all members of the primary care dental team involved in providing oral health care for children in general practice and the Public Dental Service or Community Dental Service. This includes trainees and qualified dentists, dental hygienists, dental therapists, dental nurses, dental health support workers and oral health educators. It is also of relevance to the Hospital Dental Service, dental educationalists and those involved in dental and wider public health.
